Walton at The Palace

The Walton Lodge of Installed Mark Masons No 161 is the provincial grand stewards’ lodge with membership open to all those who have held that rank.
Geoff Bury, Keith Beardmore, David Atkinson and Norman Speed
The latest gathering was the business meeting which was held at The Palace in St Annes. Bill Swindlehurst of Semper Fidelis Mark lodge having very kindly set up the lodge room for a Mark meeting.

Popping down the Fylde coast to make a private meeting to the lodge was PGM Keith Beardmore with his provincial director of ceremonies Arthur Robinson riding shotgun to ensure due protocol was observed.
APGM Geoff Bury is a member of the lodge and was also present.
The lodge room
The evening saw WM David Atkinson proclaim Norman Speed as Master Elect for the ensuing year. The installation meeting will be held at Bryn in December.
At refreshment
The lodge room is a unique and very pleasant space with several comfy sofas adding to itsĀ  individuality. It provides a warm and welcoming environment.

The rest of the business being despatched it was time to go from labour to refreshment.

The Palace had been chosen as the venue for the meeting because of the very good name it has for food. It did not disappoint. The rump steak was as good as you will find anywhere.
The assembled Brethren
Only a brief meeting but a chance to enjoy the company of friends and a good meal made the journey worthwhile. We should never under-estimate, or take for granted, the benefits of the social interaction this friendly degree provides.
